Inceptra 2019 - the commerce fest

The commerce carnival of NPS-HSR Inceptra 2019 was held on the 5th of July, 2019 in our campus. This was the second edition of the biennial festival that saw the best of Bangalore’s schools participating in a myriad of events. The host school was all decked up with festoons and colourful banners of the roaring lion logo and the events, done beautifully by the design team of Inceptra.

Ten top notch schools both from under the NPS banner and otherwise participated in this mega bash. The official host of the day, K Vishweshwar Reddy of 12 C kick started the event in by ushering in the participating schools along with their teachers in his inimitable style. The school choir rendered a beautiful prayer song invoking the Almighty with all fervor. Our Principal Ms. Shefali Tyagi lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the official inauguration of season 2. The gala show got off to a rollicking start with the address by Aditi Attada of Grade 12 who welcomed the various schools which were Gear Innovative international school, Harvest International, Christ Junior College, DPS East, NPS Koramangala, NPS Indira Nagar, NPS Rajaji Nagar, NAFL, NPS Urbana and NPS Mysore. Her welcome speech went down memory lane and recalled the first edition of the commerce event held in 2017 which was a tremendous success and threw insights on the current one. Our Principal Ms. Shefali Tyagi addressed the august gathering with her trademark insightful speech which was replete with thought provoking words. She also declared the event open.

There were 11 events conducted in season 2 of Inceptra aptly titled as Commercium Dominium - a trade and barter show with the element of ancient civilizations, Aftershock – a fashion show with the twist of auction woven inside, Disstraktions – an event that had mock ads, rap battles between CEOs, Corpus Juris – a show that had the ingredients of law, justice and court room drama, Fleet street – an event that had enthusiastic journalists covering the event, facing a press conference and writing a report, Infiltrate – an event that had coders encrypting and decrypting, Strike First – a show that had serious bidding and players getting auction with a fun element of playing a FIFA match as well, Nash it up – an event that had the classic game theory fused with modern commerce, Pas-a-pas – a business quiz that tested the students’ on companies and products, Watch me whip – a parliamentary debate modelled on the Asian format and Mystery – which had all the suspense and thrill associated with it.

There was an overwhelming and enthusiastic participation by all the schools in all the events and each one of them battled it out in great competitive spirit keeping up with the slogan of Veni, Vidi, Vici, for the coveted overall championship. The event wound up with the valedictory function. Ms. Shefali Tyagi gave away the prizes to the winners and the overall championship trophy was bagged by Christ Junior College for a second time in a row.
