Birth Anniversary of Dr. Maria Montessori

August 31 was an important day for Montessorians across the world as it marked the 152nd Birth Anniversary of Dr. Maria Montessori. The day afforded double delight as Ganesh Chaturthi also fell on the same day. GMC, HSR celebrated the twin occasions with much gaiety and enthusiasm. The day's festivities began with the lighting of the candle by the principal, Ms Shefali Tyagi. In true Maria Montessorian spirit, the ‘Fill-A-Backpack’ initiative saw students contribute old toys, storybooks, clothes, and stationery to the less fortunate. The proceeds from the drive were donated to the foster care centres under Dream India Network, a Non-Profit Organization. Children were given a special badge as a token of this red-lettered day.

The go Green project was also launched on the day by the principal, and each class received a bag of seeds as part of the drive.
