Montessori Word Power

GMC, HSR’s new initiative-WORD POWER, which spanned over two weeks, focused on the literacy development of Montessori Juniors and Seniors. With great enthusiasm, the children brought new words each day to share with their peers and added them to the Word Bank charts displayed in class. Students learned the meanings of these new words and framed sentences of their own using them. Further, as a vocabulary-building exercise, students were introduced to newspapers, and the activity helped them connect with the world. The initiative saw its culmination on 29 January 2023 with the event ‘Read Aloud Day’, for which the seniors and the juniors were dressed in T-shirts hand-painted by them.
