Sargam - A Journey Through Indian Music
On 12 February 2024, grade 8A presented their class assembly on the rich historical evolution of Indian music, uncovering its various facets. The show, titled 'Sargam,' shed light on the numerous dimensions of Indian music, including Hindustani and Carnatic, showcasing the intricate rhythms, melodies, and instruments that characterize different music styles across India. The assembly included a traditional dance, a Jugalbandi song, and shloka and illustrated how music developed across India due to the influence of personalities like Purandara Dasa and Tansen. In conclusion, "Sargam" served as a testament to the timeless allure and profound significance of Indian music. Through its exploration of history, tradition, and innovation, the assembly not only deepened our understanding of this rich cultural heritage but also sparked a sense of pride within our school.
