The Independence Day celebration of NPS HSR began with a riveting speech by the Principal, Mrs. Shefali Tyagi. A replay of Pandit Nehru’s timeless, iconic speech A Tryst with Destiny set the tone and the mood for the day’s celebration. A resounding play by the Senior School students reminded the audience of Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s glorious struggle in uniting a fragmented India after independence. Middle School students brought glitz and glamour to the show through their graceful song and dance. The students of Grades 3-5 took the virtual audience through a panel discussion with the leaders of the White Revolution, which transformed India’s economic legacy. The tiny tots of Grades 1 and 2 donned the hat of Pandemic Warriors - doctors, nurses, delivery executives, soldiers- and stole hearts. A soulful musical rendition of the Hindi song Janani Janma Bhoomi and the Kannada song Ee Manninallee by the students of Grades 9 and 10 brought the day’s celebration to a close.
