Field trips provide authentic, hands-on experiential learning opportunities where students can connect what they are learning in classroom, in a real-world context.
With the intent of incorporating real-life, practical knowledge into classroom experiences and the school curriculum, Global Montessori Centre organized a field trip to the HSR Post Office on August 22, 2024, for the Kindergarten 2 students. This trip aimed to help the students understand the workings of the Indian Postal Service.
The children were introduced to the Post Master and other post office employees. They were familiarized with various functions of the post office, including letter collection, segregation, stamping, and dispatching. The students were also briefed on the duties and responsibilities of the postal staff.
Upon returning to school, the students wrote letters to their parents on Inland , which were later posted to their home addresses. This fun and engaging trip provided a valuable learning experience about the post office in today's age of emails.
