I am extremely grateful to my school and my teachers, whose guidance and efforts were instrumental in producing this result. The regular assessments conducted helped me gauge my preparedness at each stage, allowing me to understand my strengths and improve on my weaknesses. My teachers were always available to solve doubts, and their constant motivation pushed us to do better. I focused on understanding concepts clearly, and made my own notes, which helped with last minute revision. Setting achievable goals and taking regular breaks, while also establishing a balance between academics and extracurriculars, helped me excel. I’m also immensely thankful for the invaluable support that my friends and family offered through the entire process - getting on study calls and solving each others doubts helped create a fruitful environment
Throughout the year, I have received unwavering support and guidance from my teachers. It wasn’t just the numerous periods in school where complex concepts became crystal clear in a matter of minutes, it was also the multiple doubt clarification classes where countless doubts were answered. From the very first day of school, the teachers went above and beyond to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Whether it was seeking clarification on a challenging concept, discussing personal concerns, or simply engaging in casual conversation, our teachers have always been readily accessible and willing to lend a listening ear. From discussing preparation time-tables to solving worksheets and sample papers for extra practice, from regular class tests to pre-boards, from insightful feedback on assignments to words of encouragement during challenging times, every aspect of the preparation was covered. Beyond the classroom, I have been fortunate to be part of a school community that fostered a culture of academic excellence and personal growth. Learning how to balance academics with extra-curriculars and entrance tests, teaming up with peers in a collaborative environment to come up with acronyms or mind maps or being prepared for the future through life-skills are all experiences that have left an indelible mark. I am immensely thankful for the role our school has played in shaping me into the person I am today.
If I were to aptly describe the past year, Mandela’s quote would do justice. As he had rightly said, “The greatest glory in living is not in falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
Being at the echelon of success, I must say that going uphill was not a cakewalk; but don’t get me wrong - it’s not impossible either. I am extremely grateful to all the teaching fraternity, parents and friends for their unwavering support through arduous times. Our teachers gave us plenty of exam-oriented guidance, tips and advice which proved useful on D-day. Friendly and always available, my teachers and parents helped clear any apprehensions or last-minute doubts. Self-study was my way of approaching academics. I recommend solving plenty of previous year papers, SQPs, and question banks (especially those issued by CBSE). Having a rough schedule, finishing homework in classes during free time and multiple revisions of NCERT Textbooks (which many ignore) were my keys to success. My advice to all future aspirants - always try to get stronger in your weaker areas - that’s all you need to emerge stronger!
Ever since I joined NPS, it has been my second home. I always ensured to have a structured timetable and maintained a consistent study routine. My teachers always helped and mentored me during my whole journey in NPS. They consistently crafted opportunities that inspired me and also enabled me to perform beyond my perceived limits. My parents helped me in creating a nurturing environment and have always supported me. I would like to thank my friends for making the school experience even more memorable and enjoyable. The brainstorming sessions with my friends and constant practice have helped me to go the extra mile.
For me, approaching 10th grade meant focusing on one exam at a time. It was essential not to worry too far ahead and just give 100% in each internal school exam. The school ensures that your internal exam prep is more than enough for your boards.
Secondly,Staying calm during preparation and exams was crucial and not letting stress get to you. This is easier said than done, but it is important to understand that stress does no good for your confidence and mental health. Thirdly, maintaining balance is crucial; studying for 3-4 hours straight never worked for me. I maintained contact with the outside world by walking my dog for at least 40 minutes every day, ensuring a sense of balance.
My school teachers played a vital role, providing guidance, advice, and answering all my doubts. I was lucky to have a supportive family who did not put much pressure on me and ensured I was free of any apprehension before the tests. Doing previous year papers and mock tests proved immensely helpful.
To summarize, maintaining a balance, keeping calm and doing plenty of previous years questions helped me score well in the board exams.
